"Gnosis / Recondite"

What is God? God is Recondite. What is Recondite?  It is defined as: Beyond the capacity of the human mind to either comprehend or even imagine.  What does this mean?  It means it is a waste of time and a futile effort to try to know God.

You can believe in God until the cows come home and you can believe in the tooth fairy.  You can believe in the religion you were taught or the religion that you chose and you can believe in Santa Claus.  Simply stated, believing isn't knowing nor does believing (faith) make anything true or real.

So how can one know God if God is recondite?  The answer is simply this: You can't know God except for what God reveals to you about Itself . . . which begs the question: "How can one encourage God to do so?"  The answer is simple.

You must completely forget everything you believe or think you know about God.  Everything you were taught from the 'pulpit' and in Sunday School, everything you were taught by family and friends, and everything you have read about God, written by imbeciles who are so narcissistic as to think they really know.  Completely cleanse your mind of ALL that BS because BS is exactly what it is.  You might begin by refusing to refer to God as He or Him.  If there is a God, it must be whole, the all of the ALL.  Therefore, God must be either genderless or both male and female as in "Yin-Yang" of the Taoist tradition.  And completely dismiss the idea that God is 'out there'.  It isn't.  A very spiritually adept man of some two thousand years ago taught his followers that "the Kingdom of Heaven is within you." It is.  Leave these two concepts as the ONLY things you know about God.  Then let God reveal to you all else that It is, in times when you are ready and in ways that only you can comprehend.

It is important, that with your mind now cleared of all the BS doctrines and dogmas you've believed, you must resist the temptation to start writing again on this 'clean slate'.  Leave it clean and open, in your heart - NOT IN YOUR MIND - to be receptive to what will come. With an open heart, simply ask and then forget about it.  Before long, things will begin to change in the way you see things and when you change the way you see things, things begin to change.  Remember,  recondite means "beyond the capacity of the human mind to either comprehend or even imagine."  So leave your MIND out of it.  Don't think about God, don't surmise, don't even guess.  Just don't think about It.  Leave your heart open like a book full of empty pages and simply ask.  When the changes in your perceptions begin, this is God revealing Itself to you.  And IT will only do so in ways that only YOU can understand.  It will write Itself on all those empty pages in that book in your heart because only the HEART can know God.  The MIND cannot!  The mind can only believe via faith, and faith isn't knowing, it is believing and nothing more.

When I'm asked if I believe in God, I answer: "Nope . . . and I don't care to.  I'd rather  KNOW IT".  When I'm asked what I know, I answer, "That which causes my heart to cry, whether tears of sorrow for the plight of others or tears of joy for their rejoicing, whether tears from truly experiencing something divinely beautiful and astonishing, or tears for those who never do, THAT IS GOD."  And if I'm asked if and how my knowing has changed my life, I answer: "I've learned to judge others never and to forgive others always, and I've learned to simply accept as truth everything written on those blank pages in my heart."
