Dear Gavas,

Consider Cheap Tomatoes
From your friend in California . . .

As you know, I am a retired teacher whose wife is still teaching in the Riverside area and has been for many years. The following is first hand knowledge:

As we all have our own opinions on illegal immigration
there are some things that you should be aware of.

My wife is in charge of the English-As-a-Second-Language Department at a large southern California high school, which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socio-economic and income levels.

My wife tells me that 100% of the students in her school and other Title 1
schools are on the free breakfast, free lunch program. When I say free breakfast I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll...but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten.

She estimates that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones.

The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for baby-sitters or having family watch their kids.

She was ordered to spend $700,000 in her department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything as her budget was already substantial.  She ended up buying new computers for their computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America.

She has had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them "Putas" (whores) and throwing things that the teachers who were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc.  Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?

To my bleeding-heart liberal friends who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they like their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes,  spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs. Higher insurance, Medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc., etc.

For me, I'll PAY MORE for tomatoes!

We need to wake up. Any guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it.  And does anyone in their right mind really believe these invaders will leave and return voluntarily?

There are many hardworking Hispanic/American citizens that contribute to our country and many that I consider my true friends.  We should encourage and accept those Hispanics who have done it the right and legal way.

This does have everything to do with culture:  A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate . . . and an American culture that has become so weak and politically correct that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

If this makes your blood boil, as it does mine, then please forward this to everyone you know who still loves our country and for America's sake, write your Congressmen/women and Senators.

Hello,

I saw your advertisement on craigslist the other day about people escaping the cult of mormonism. I agree with you fully that mormonism is a homophobic, socialist, hypocritical cult. Being a former member of it myself, I have seen the difference between reality and the shelter they put up to keep out the outside world. I've seen what they do to people and how they create an entire race of brainwashed sheep unable to think for them selves. I would like to lend my hand in support of anything that might help save people from this brainwashing any faster. Please let me know what I can do to help control this virus.

Dear GaVaS,

I write every day.  You are right, it is great therapy.  Writing forces me to slow down and organize thoughts, and once I organize my thoughts I can see how irrational they were and self-defeating.  The writing helps when I fell agitated, nervous about an upcoming situation, feeling mad at myself, or with any thought which is upsetting but has no reason to be.  Your Anxiety-Depression pages are very helpful.  I have gone there when I have been feeling especially anxious and it has helped me, as well as going there often to remind myself of changing my inner dialogue.  Thank you!  It has really made a difference.

Dear Eddy,

"Ugly Within"  is, indeed, very sad.  Many poets have written much the same however.  Most commonly, it is encoded and not so blatantly open.  Poe, for example, encodes his self hatred in "The Bells".  In The Dark Poet's case, I think she might be screaming for validation that she is not as ugly inside as she feels.  On the other hand, do you think she might have written this about a friend, or about how something outside of herself makes her feel inside?  Perhaps it's therapeutic . . . an attempt to get that feeling inside of her, outside of her and on to paper with pen and ink.  Poets feel deeply and it is because of this that they write.  And it's all subject to interpretation which, to me, makes poetry intriguing and exciting.

GaVaS    06-12-10

Dear Editor,

Your Dark Poet link.  Interesting work.  I love "Dear Dad".  "Beneath the Willow" is haunting to say the least and "Free at Last", happily for me, redeems it.  "Ugly Within"  is too sad.  How can anyone so talented feel that way about herself?  Very disturbing.

dear editor,

i hope the 'dark poet' did write 'beneath the willow' and 'ugly within' at least ten years ago.  it would make me sad to think she is writing these now.  i agree with sarah that would be troubling.  that said, reading her work is a sobering experience.

wolf   (received  05-19-10)

Dear Sarah,

I know very little about her, almost nothing, actually, but I don't think she is a danger to herself.  What I do know of her is from her poems which tell me she is smarter and more talented than average and is therefore too smart to do anything stupid or irresponsible.  Consider that we don't even know when she first wrote these three works.  They could be ten years old for all we know.  And if you expect something cheerful you might have to wait until someone called the 'Light' poet submits some poems.  You were able to connect with her first work because you had something in common.  If you have nothing in common with the next two then simply read them again and try to feel what she felt when writing them.  Isn't that what poetry is all about?

GaVaS  05-14-10

Dear Editor,

The second and third poems by the dark poet have me worried.  Do you think she might be suicidal?  Do you know her?  Can you check on her?

Dear Editor,

The Dear Dad poem really tugged at my heart.  How sad.  I lost my dad when I was seven.  This poem, so well written, really connected with me on a very deep level.  I hope it isn't true about the murder and that it was written for effect rather than fact.

Dear Janice,

I challenge you to point out just one single statement in my article which is not factual.  If you can do so, I'll give you as much space as you want to explain how, where and why my article is erroneous.  But I must warn you, quoting Mormon scripture will be a waste of your time for the simple reason that I have already demonstrated, with historical and theological facts, what a pant-load of crap Mormon scripture happens to be.  So study your history of Christianity, traditional, orthodox, and gnostic, then study Roman Emperor Constantine's Council of Nicea held in 325 (ce), and then study the historical record and archaeological artifacts in the Americas which paint a clear picture of the indigenous peoples on both continents.  After you've done that, and you have an intelligent and informed rebuttal which proves I am in error, you shall have all the space you need to show me how, where and why I am wrong.

With regard to your missionaries, let them come with the General Authorities and I alone will still have them out-gunned with facts and the truth.

GaVaS  05-02-10

Dear Editor,

You should talk to some missionaries to get a better understanding about Mormonism.  You say your article is based on facts.  Well you should get your facts straight.

Nothing.  There is nothing we can do but hope and pray that he and his cohorts get run over by a bus.  And real soon.  The truth is, I'm afraid, that there is not enough of the Constitution still existing for the Supreme Court to interpret, which is their only job.  Since the Constitution is basically dead, these poop-stains in the Supreme Court and on Capital Hill can make any decision they want and we have to live with it.  The Constitution can no longer protect us from these fascists, and the President is virtually powerless to stop them.  Makes ya wanna puke, doesn't it?

CHIEF JUSTICE  JOHN ROBERTS is another dangerous legacy left by President George W Bush that we'll be stuck with for at least a generation.  He's as bad as the mess that still scars the landscapes of New Orleans.  But we can fix New Orleans.  What can we do about this treasonous Chief Justice and his fellow  traitor in the Supreme Court?

Dear LuLu,

I think that's a brilliant suggestion.  From this point and afterward the party crashers who were not invited to visit the EX-MORMON room will find their mindless dribble in a separate room.  If the party crashers actually do contribute anything worth the while of intelligent, thinking people, all their letters to the Editor shall henceforth be forwarded to the  Mormon Moron's Mindless Dribble Room . . . . Thanks LuLu for such an splendid idea!

GaVaS  12-14-09

Dear Gavas,

Why don't you build another room for these dumb-asses?  Unfortunately, your Letters to the Editor is becoming a forum for fanatic Mormons who's "mindless dribble" as you describe it, is taking up too much space that could be used for other comments about other rooms on your website.  The Thomas Paine articles certainly deserve more room for correspondence than these mindless Mormons are getting.  If these 'dumb-asses' want to see their dribble in print, give them a room of their own where they can all feel good about themselves.  I picture the Mormon's Heaven as a place separate from the rest of the Heavens.  It has a very high wall around it with sound proofing and has no windows or doors.  That way they can all believe they're the only ones that got in to heaven.

LuLu  (received 12/14/09)

RIGHT ON, Gavas !!!  This is great entertainment.  It's better than a classic comedy.  These Mormons (excuse me, I meant to say "Morons") have not a clue how ridiculous they are and what a laughable, comical exhibit of stupidity they expose themselves to be.  Right On, Gavas !!!  I'm only sorry to read that you won't be posting anymore of these dumb-ass's letters.  Trust me,  they make me laugh until my sides hurt.  It's better than South Park!!!

Dave Taylor   (received 12/13/09)

P.S.  Dr. Luciani,  will you marry me?

Dear sego rozo BOZO,

Again, one more example of Mormons crashing a party they are not invited to.  And another example of Mormons having nothing intelligent to say.  I invited anyone who can prove me wrong to write in and do so.  So far, as I expected, no mormon has attempted to contradict the facts.  All they can contribute, like sego rozo the Bozo, is mindless dribble.  As Dr Luciani pointed out, this section of gavas.com is reserved for EX-mormons who need a little help clearing their minds of the lies and indoctrinations of the CULT called the Mormon Church.  I have no intention or desire to "damage the faith of the saints" as you suggested, dumb- ass.  AGAIN, THE SITE IS FOR EX-MORMONS TRYING TO ESCAPE THE GRIP OF THE MORMON CULT!  I SUGGEST, DUMB-ASS, IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT, STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN, DUMB-ASS! Unless you dumb-asses, as Dr Luciani correctly refers to you, have something constructive to say, or can challenge me intellectually with facts instead of the bullshit you all call "faith", I'll no longer waste my time responding to letters such as this fine example of stupidity laced with abominable English grammar which only further proves how indoctrinated and brainwashed all faithful mormons happen to be.

Another thing that might interest you, sego rozo BOZO, is the little virus you attached to your email was blocked by my firewall which identified you as it's source.  If you or any of your fellow faithful dumb-asses tries to sabotage my site with any virus, worm, trojan, etc.  I assure you we will be discussing it with the Legal Authorities.  You'll be easy to find, having included you email address,  further proof that you're a dumb-ass.  I suggest you get a lawyer before you try that again.

GaVaS  12/13/09

I have read the article and it help me so much to understand more the LDS doctrine and to strengthen more my testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, and of the prophetic calling of Joseph Smith,  if you would you able to see with your heart you will be able to understand what you think will damage the faith of the saints and you will be able to embrace the truth.  Thanks again,

Dear Gavas,

As you know, I was raised in Catholic schools from pre-school through the end of High School.  I received a good education, much better than my peers in public schools, and I received a scholarship to several Universities that I applied to and some I never heard of.  Some of these scholarships were awarded after I completed my sophomore year in High School.  But I want to help your readers take another perspective of what you're trying do with your Room for EX-mormons.

I was also raised in a cult.  A much larger cult than the cult of mormonism.  My cult burned women at the stake as witches for being nothing more than individualists who were less zealous about joining the cult than everyone else.  My cult persecuted the Jews who were scattered through Europe in ways that people in 2009 can't even conceive of or would even believe if you tried to explain it to them.  Believe me, Hitler and Stalin were not the first to attempt genocide against those Jews of yester-year.  The Popes, Cardinals, Bishops, Deacons, and even many Monks of my cult preceded Stalin and Hitler by fifteen hundred years.

I was very lucky to get the education I got from the Catholic schools I attended.  It was far superior to public school.  But in Catholic School the brainwashing and mind control that you objected to in your EX-mormon Room began for me in pre-school and by the time I graduated from High School I was so confused I scratched my head whenever my ass itched.  Your readers are missing the intent of what you're saying in your EX-mormon room.  Leaving a cult is very difficult on most people and I applaud you for offering help to EX-mormons because, having taught in Utah for two years, I saw so much resistance to learning on the college level that I was totally amazed.  I couldn't believe so many of my students were afraid of what I was teaching.  In a word, they were programmed to reject everything that contradicted mormonism.

For all you mormons who have flooded Gavas' email inbox with hate-mail, please allow me to clear something up for all of you dumb- asses.  Gavas is providing a service to EX-mormons.  Gavas is sharing forty plus years of study in Judeo-Christian history. He has studied the world's major religions, and classical as well as renaissance period philosophical thought.  What he is trying to do he does in a way that I think is ingenious not to mention the dry wit and humor one can only appreciate if one actually knows him.  And I do know him.  I know him well enough to know the last thing he intended to do was to offend a single mormon.  I called you dumb-asses because of this reason alone:  Gavas invited EX-mormons to his EX-mormon room to provide a service to people who need help rewiring their minds after the brainwashing they suffered while living in a cult.  He chose mormonism because he was raised a mormon and lives in a part of the country where he is surrounded by mormons.  I've heard him say many nice things about mormons as a people.  But Gavas is also surrounded by many mormons who can't believe all that is taught them in that church.  They are non-believers but are afraid to admit it to themselves because they are so wired in that belief system it is easier to keep quiet and try not to fall into a pit of depression.  It's a huge struggle for them because they are wired to keep what they're feeling bottled up inside.  So if you're not an EX-mormon, you're a dumb-ass who visited where you were not invited, and crashing Gavas' email inbox is not only intrusive but borders on persecution.  Believe me, you'll never change Gavas' thinking with all your nasty attempts to convince him he's wrong.  He not only knows more about mormonism than you do, but has probably also forgotten more about it than you will ever know even if you live another ten lifetimes as a mormon.

Gavas, I really hope you will publish this letter to the Editor.  Don't be reluctant because we're friends.  I'm with you all the way on this cult business.  As a Psychologist I know very well how damaging cults are to the human soul.  I see it everyday in others, and I still struggle with my own issues as a victim of the cult of Catholicism.  Don't let any of these 'dumb-asses' persuade you to close down and put a lock on that room.  It needs to remain open!

Dear Ms Moon,

You're absolutely right.  The artist's rendering is tough to look at.  However, I'm sure it would have been even tougher to witness.  The capacity of humans to bring the worst hell they can imagine upon another human is, in my opinion, the ugliest evil in the universe.  And I don't buy the bullshit  "the Devil made me do it"  or  "he blasphemed God and had to die",  etc.   The Devil,  if there is one, had nothing to do with it.  The Devil, if there is one, is in the heart of man.   And if God,  if there is one,  wanted anyone to die for blasphemy,  I'm certain God,  if there is one,  is quite capable of bringing death to the offender with a total absence of the evil cruelty that the man from Galilee was subjected to.  With regard to your complaint about the word "love" as the heading.  I chose "love" for the very reason of the difficulty you had in viewing the painting.  Yes, it's gruesome.  And whether Yeshua  (Jesus)  was giving himself up for the redemption of humans or if he was simply delusional in his view of himself,  the bottom line is this:  the Devil had nothing to do with it for the EVIL is in the heart of MAN, in which case man is in dire need of redemption, and I have to question what kind of God would sanction such an exhibition of cruelty.  Maybe it was necessary in the Grand Scheme.  After all,  two thousand years later, in seventeen days from the date of my writing this, we will still celebrate the birthday of Yeshua ben Yoseph of Nazareth, and the impact on the history of man by the birth, life, teachings and sacrifice of this one man is remarkable to say the least.  Lastly, whether Yeshua was truly abiding by the will of God to redeem human kind, or if he was delusional in thinking that it was his ultimate mission in life to save the human species from the evil that is in us,  it was his LOVE that brought him to it.   His love for God and his love for US.  The picture stays !

Dear Editor,

The Article on Governor Lamm of Colorado needs to be on the front page of every newspaper in America.  America's enemies are out there and they are coming here and they are winning.  Please!  Whoever you are, read this  http://gavas.com/Gov_Lamm_of_Colorado.htm  It isn't racism, it's fact.  And if we're too politically correct in this country to accept the facts for fear of being called 'racist',  AMERICA IS SCREWED, MAN !  My parents both came from Mexico legally and believe me, they worked hard so I could go to college and get my MBA.  Now they don't work at all because I can afford to pay them back by letting them live with me with a standard of living not even dreamed of where they came from.  They are proud US citizens now, as am I, and they share the same worries I have.  Mexicans should get in line and come to America LEGALLY !  The same way my parents had to.

The life boat is full America and is sinking.  Gangs, drugs and diseases coming from Mexico can potentially destroy my beloved country.  Yes, I said MY beloved country which is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.  Sure, many come to pick cabbages and grapes but they won't even try to learn the language of America.  ENGLISH !  When I came home everyday from primary school thru high school, my parents made me sit with them and tell them in ENGLISH what I had learned that day.  They wanted to learn the language because they wanted to be AMERICANS.  Now they are and damn proud of it and I'm so proud of my parents I cry every time I think about how American they are.  They love their country.  America !

My parents read Gavas' link on Governor Lamm of Colorado and showed it to me.  Every one of us agreed this problem has been swept under the rug long enough.  Too long ! Please, America, READ IT !  My parents told me if they wanted to live in Mexico they'd have gone back years ago.  Now they're afraid they will soon be living in Mexico again without budging one inch.

And neither does anyone else including the Pope.  I believe Yeshua was a Spiritual Adept who was more in tune with DEUS ABSCONDITUS than anyone on earth since Lao Tse and probably more so than he or the Buddha.  The problem Yeshua had was with the overly corrupt and the overly pious and the overly ignorant people to whom he tried to share what he had.  Was it part of the plan of DEUS ABSCONDITUS?  Judging by Jeshua's influence on the course of human events and the subsequent impact on World History? . . .  I'd have to say: Probably!  But saying 'what' Yeshua was . . . I won't go there anymore.  I've spent a lifetime studying him and have learned only one thing:  I just don't know, and neither does anyone else.

Dear Gavas,

So if Jesus, or Yeshuah as you prefer to call him, isn't God, then who or what is he?

Dear Editor,

Thanks to Gavas for pointing out to "Proud 2 b LDS" that your EX-mormon link was an invitation to EX mormons and not practicing mormons.  I left the mormon church thirty one years ago and so much of the garbage I was taught as a child remains with me to this day.  Religious cults rob their members of their own individual identities which is not only criminal, in my opinion, but out-right EVIL when done to children beginning soon after birth.  It's absolutely disgusting!

I must say that I learned so much that I never realized before, and in just a few short pages too, it was amazing!  It not only reinforced my decision to leave the church but was also a lesson in history, Hebrew, mind control and a few other 'factoids', as Gavas calls them.

I imagine Gavas is taking some heat from a lot of mormons over his article as evidenced by the letters I've seen. I hope he will put this letter on the Letters to the Editor because  I would like to say to mormons 'if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen'.  Gavas didn't invite YOU to click this link.  It wasn't intended for YOUR eyes so if you are insulted you have only yourself to blame.  It probably hasn't occurred to you but Gavas provides a wonderful service to EX-mormons. A service that is needed by many EX-mormons because leaving a cult and cleansing one's mind of the lies, the guilt and the fears that were taught them from as far back as they can remember is a difficult task, to say the least, and can take the remainder of ones lifetime to get all that bologna out of their systems.  Gavas has only exposed mormonism as a cult and named others as well and if you disagree with Gavas on anything else he wrote, you can't disagree that mormonism is a CULT.  Because it IS !

Thank you Gavas and God bless you!

Dear Proud,

How utterly Christian of you!  Indeed, you should be 'Proud' of yourself for such an eloquently expressed opinion and the apparent dignity and integrity that dwells in your heart which I'm sure prompted you to write it.  However, I challenge you, or anyone else for that matter, to point out where I lied about anything.  Furthermore, you 'Proud', self-righteous, sanctimonious, over-baked pot of last century's beans, if you go back to the Quiet Museum  ( click here )  and look at the variety of places you can visit, the one that has you lusting for my eternal burning in hell is actually an invitation to EX-MORMONS, who wish to break the chains of your cherished cult of which you are so 'Proud 2 b . . ." a member.  Perhaps you'd feel  more comfortable and among friends by simply clicking here -->   FOR  THOSE   LESS   CEREBRALLY   ENDOWED

Thanks for writing.  It's been a joy.  Let's do it again sometime.

Dear Editor,

When Gavas is burning in hell I hope they make a video of it so I can watch him scream in eternal agony for the lies he is telling about the true Church of Jesus Christ.

Dear Editor,

In his letter to "Annie", Gavas mentioned 'true disciples of Yeshua were forced into hiding in Egypt because they didn't believe that a disciple needed any leaders or preachers.  I'm curious to know if these "true disciples" as he calls them included Mary Magdalene, Philip, Judas Thomas who was call 'the Twin', Jesus' brother James who was called the Righteous and others who authored the Nag Hammadi Texts which are called the "Gnostic Gospels".  I'm also curious, does Gavas believe Jesus is God.

Dear Annie,

I believe that any organized religion which spoon-feeds to it's children a belief system that cannot be proven is a cult.  Teaching fear of eternal punishment for being simply human, teaching the oppression of women, forced conversions by Muslims which prompted the Crusades which were commanded by a single man called "Pope" which, in turn prompted counter invasions by Muslims and so on and so on for almost three hundred years. Christian Elders burned witches and scientists at the stake and did the same to other Christians who followed the first Century, Gnostic tradition and lived, rather than preached, the teachings of Christ.  Christian Europe's treatment of the Jews during the middle ages in the name of Christ, stating it lightly, was inhumane, unholy, criminal, and simply evil.  If one is preached such zealotry from childhood, that zealous child, when an adult, will persecute and even kill innocent people, children included, in the name of Christ because their parents just happen to be Jewish, or Moslem, or Gay, or Purple.

I'll say it again . . . Yeshua (Jesus) said "the Kingdom of Heaven is within you."  The first century tradition (present day Gnostics) taught this to their children.  They taught their children that Yeshua treated women as equal to men.  They taught their children to judge others in no case and forgive others in every case and to love God.  They didn't have Bishops, Cardinals, Popes, cathedrals or chapels.  They taught their children a doctrine of love, mercy, forgiveness and grace.  And these true disciples of Yeshua were forced into hiding in Egypt because they didn't believe that a disciple needed any leaders or preachers.  They believed Yeshua when he said "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you."

Thanks for writing,

I'd like to know what Gavas thinks is a religion that isn't a cult.  It looks to me like he believes every religion is a cult.

Dear A. ,

It might interest you to know that I spent the first fourteen years of my life as an active Mormon and twenty four more years as an inactive Mormon.  Living in Utah, I'm surrounded by Mormons and I must say, for the most part they are good neighbors and their children are well behaved.  My 'problem', as you put it, is mind control.  And if you read the entire article (there are six fairly short pages), then you saw that I don't exclude other sects of Christianity, Moslems or Jews or anyone else where mind control is concerned.  Mormonism, by every definition, is a CULT.  And I do have a problem with CULTS because of the mind control factor involved.  There's an old saying that's so old it's been dated back to the middle ages and probably originated with the Saxons after Christianity successfully invaded Europe:  "The closer you are to the church, the further you are from God."  One's spirituality, in my humblest opinion, should be a relationship between one and his/her God and NOT a relationship between one and his/her church.  Mormon or otherwise.

Thanks for writing . . . .

So, Gavas,  how did you ever get to be so knowledgeable about the mormons and their beliefs?   Why do you care enough to slam them like you do on your website.  It seems to me that you really have a problem that this mormon thing deserves so much of your criticism.  Did you get beat up by a gang of missionaries or something?  I'm willing to wager you have never even been inside a mormon church.  By the way, Gavas, what underwear do you wear?  Tighty whities or briefs?  Someone should grab the back of them and pull them up over your head.

Dear Dale,

Thanks for taking the time to write.  My head certainly has gotten in the way of a lot of thinks over the years.  I've got the scars to prove it.  However, I'm not as flexible as you suggest I might be. In fact, until you mentioned it, I didn't know it was even possible. So . . .  what's it like up there?  How many tries did it take before you finally got it in?  Just curious.  And for those who don't know what you're talking about, here's the link  FOR  THOSE   LESS   CEREBRALLY   ENDOWED

Dear Lillian,

I'm neither Democrat or Republican.  I'm for "Common Sense".  I'd wager that in many regards I'm more conservative than you are, and most Republicans, for that matter.  I'm also, in many regards, more liberal than most Democrats.  I just want to see an end to the  'us-verses-them'  mentality in Washington and on the air waves which seems to be coming only from conservatives.  Have you ever considered how divisive that can be?  Do you not realize that  ". . . a house divided against itself cannot stand."  ???

For six of the last eight years the Republicans had the Whitehouse, both Houses of Congress and the Supreme Court.  For the last two years, even though they had a slim majority in Congress, the Democrats still didn't have enough votes to make any of the changes the people of America voted them in for in 2006.  And look at the mess we're in now!  I suppose you think it's because of that slim majority of Democrats that they were able to flush our economy down  the toilet in only two years.

I don't know how happy I am about the last election.  But I do know that it won't be more of the same crap we've been spoon-fed by the Republicans for the last eight years.  It's difficult to be optimistic about it, however, because I'm certain that the doom-and-gloom from the Republicans and their cohorts on the radio is not the way to help the situation we're in.  "Republicans can do no wrong and Democrats can do no right."  Your heroes like Limbaugh have turned the word "liberal" into a 'four letter word'. That's all I ever hear on AM radio stations and it's been that way for years.  "Divide and Conquer"  . . .  have you ever heard that phrase?  And here's another quote from someone I'm sure you've heard of:  "If we love our Country, we should also love our Countrymen."   Ronald Reagan

Think about it, Lillian, and thanks for your enlightening opinion.

Dear Editor,

Gavas and all liberal Democrats like him are dangerous to this country.  Gavas frightens me that he is so liberal and Obama thinks like him and the congress thinks like him and this country is in big trouble because of people like him.
