"SHATTERED REFLECTION"
Break the
mirror on your wall.
Collect the pieces as they fall.
Glue them back together quickly
So you can see the real you clearly.
You poor thing, look at yourself!
You were programmed to hate yourself.
The things you were told
The things you went through
Look at you girl, you believe they are true.
You thought no one cared
The years went by
You wasted away
You let yourself die.
Inside and out
You were a robot of doubt.
That was past tense
This is the now.
Hopefully someone, somewhere has read this . . .
Felt the same way and decided to change this.
You bought a new mirror for your wall.
You saw yourself clearly through it all.
No distorted self-image
No pre-programmed law.
All this you saw . . . in the mirror on the wall.
