"INTELLIGENT DESIGN"
The term “Intelligent Design” is a scientific term which has been used in the scientific community since Aristotle. The concept became more prevalent after Copernicus and reached it's peak after Galileo's conflict with the church.
In more modern times (mid 1700's) it evolved into a rather crude system for assessing the results of scientific experiments in relation to the possibility of intelligent engineering of the universe. In short, it is a measuring parameter or focal point for new scientific discoveries (new discoveries either move us toward, or away from that focal point). While some discoveries have moved toward that parameter over the years, subsequent discoveries typically move us back away from that point. The more exact science becomes, the further we move away from that focal point.
The religious community in this country has hijacked the term believing that by using this terminology they can get “Creationism” taught in America’s classrooms. What they want taught in the classroom is the book of Genesis from the Bible, NOT “Intelligent Design”.
